Maria`s Restaurant in Braintree

One of the most neighborhood restaurants I've ever had the pleasure of eating at. Maria's is one of those places your parents visit every week without fail. The portions are huge, the staff is nice enough, and the wine is poured heavy. The quality of food is pretty good but won't knock your socks off. If you live near here you've been.

Have always gone and loved there food .last nite was just plane awful food loaded with garlic and pepper drank a whole liter of water .i will give them one more try before deleting them from my eatery choices

This place was absolutely fantastic! The food superb. The environment was one of good. Our waitress super attentive. We're Greek/Lebanese/Italian. It just had that feeling you were at home. Or you went to auntie's house. There was lots of laughter. Good times. Portions were not held back. You'll need to go to see how awesome it is. I'll definitely be back. I was incredibly impressed by everything. Our waitress is the one on the right of me. I can't for the life of me remember her name. She's awesome.The scallops were huge!

To everyone who misses the red pleather booths, dark interiors and giant portions of the past, this is your new favorite place! Friendly staff, fabulously retro interior, very solid Italian American classics. Love it.

The Scrod plate is very good and its a big portion. A lot of the other plates are also big but mediocre with bland flavors. The menu is loaded with veal options. It was a week day and the place was almost empty. The tables are cramped. The decor has Italian paintings on every wall and what looks like Greek statues. I recommend this place over the Venetian in weymouth.

Made a reservation for a large party a week ago. Called to update the guest number and was told the person who made the reservation made a mistake and that this party needs to be held upstairs. My dad is in a wheelchair therefor we can no longer have the large party here and I am without a venue a week prior to the event. Both of my parents love this restaurant and it is a shame that your only accommodation for a large party is not handicap accessible and it is a shame that your staff are not knowledgeable and can't handle a reservation request. Very upsetting.

Second best Italian spot in Braintree. Some would argue first and I wouldn’t bat an eye. Big portions all good to great Italian dishes for a low price. Only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because the portion sizes have got a bit smaller(still big) recently and the meatballs which were my favorite(still very good) seem to have changed a bit. I’d highly recommend Maria’s though brought my family from the cape a few times and they always love it.

At the moment you step in that place the stuff gives you a comfortable feeling. Very hospitable hosts, it is a lovely restaurant to enjoy with your friends or with your date. Excellent cooking, experienced chief cook and stuff, comfortable cost and professional service. Highly recommended.

First time experience at this restaurant and was not disappointed. Food portions and price were excellent and the staff were incredibly friendly. Had no issue getting a table for two during the dinner rush.

While visiting family in Braintree, we all enjoyed dinner at Maria's. The portions were large. Everyone had a take home meal. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. The meals were prepared quick.

This is a small little restaurant with limited parking. It has sort of a throw back feel inside, something you would think of when you think of a themed restaurant from the 90's.The food is good, not amazing but really good. You get large portions and it's not very expensive. The servers are very nice and my table was checked on a lot while I was there. I think it's a great place to visit. good food, good prices and good service. I would definitely come back!

This isn't going to be a fair review, because I ate takeout (I would have preferred to dine inside) for the first time which was during the covid-19 lock down. So I don't believe I got everything Maria's has to offer. Based off of the food alone, I would have to say, Maria's is very good. It is Italian style comfort food, and cooked and prepared well, and served in large portions. I ordered the dinner for two and it was more than enough for myself and another person. I am looking forward to dining inside and giving it hopeful and honest review

If anyone leaves this place hungry it's their own fault. Hefty portions, so bring your hefty appetite.

Delicious, great service, amazing atmosphere. Great for kids and amazing specials. You are missing out if you do not go.

Hadn’t been there in years. Food was really good. I have a suggestion. When you walk in the front door and are standing there to be acknowledged.....it would be nice if the guy that was right there ( I heard he was the owner) smiled and greeted you. I was ready to walk out the door....when I said hello, he showed zero welcoming skills.....not a good impression. Sometimes when you run a place for so long, you forget that curtesy still counts. Thank God he didn’t wait on us....he would have got a very bad tip. Even a smile would have been nice. When I mentioned this to others, it was a comfort for me to know that I was not alone in noticing this. So Mr. Bartender/Owner.....take notice.

Very good Italian food for the price

Good food, great prices, good sized portions, wide selection on menu. One of the few places that still give you bread and salad (choice of a Greek salad you boot!) with your meal at no additional charge. The decor is shabby, vintage Greek. It's well worn for a reason, the place was packed when we went. Tables are close together, and it is loud so know that this is not for a romantic occasion.

Great food all the time and daily luncheon specials too.

The food is always delicious at Maria's. The ambiance is very hometown Italy and the service is wonderful. If you have a sensitivity towards salt I advise you to mention that. I've eaten there several times and will again when in the Boston area and only once had an overly salted dish that needed to go back. No problem No worries!!! You will love the place!

Good food/ service/desserts. Good everything overall!!! Definitely will be back for more tiramisu!!!

Fishermen platter is the best

I’ve had veal parm from many Italian places in the greater Boston area and this was by far the worst. Also, their “famous Greek salad” is nothing more than iceberg lettuce with a handful of feta, a 1/4th tomato slice, and a single greek olive on top. Even the water tasted kind of funky so I stuck to other drinks. The atmosphere is crowded. The only saving grace of this restaurant is that in terms of Italian food the prices are pretty low, but you get what you pay for. I will not be coming back.

This place is great, chicken parm is the best I ever had, and the seafood Alfredo is unbelievable?!!! I could go here every night!!

A colleague recommended this restaurant to me, and decided to give it a try. The soup was on the saltier side, but it was good - tons of chicken and rice in the soup. I ordered their Eggplant Parmesan and it was good. My sister said their Chicken Piccata was good, too. The portions were very generous for the price you pay... I had my Eggplant Parm for lunch the next day. I’ll come back when I crave homestyle cooking!

I enjoyed my meal, chicken cacciatore. It was delicious. Slightly salty, but still good. Friendly waitress, very reasonably priced. Casual resteraunt. Parking is a bit tough, so crowded. I'd eat there again.

Love this restaurant! Casual setting, and fun atmosphere. The wait staff is very friendly, but busy, and rushing around. The prices are excellent.

Great food good prices

Gave it a try for the first time and it was absolutely worth it. Meat lasagna was just amazing. Great variety of wines to accompany your meal. Pleasant place with an outgoing staff. Coming back to try out the fettuccini.

Old school Greek/Italian. This is not a 5 star restaurant but we had a 5 star experience today. The antipasto was enormous and delicious. Pizza was crispy, greasy and perfect with the salad. Service was top notch. Our leftovers were beautifully wrapped with a side of dressing and side of whipped cream for the dessert. Walked away smiling.***UPDATE ***Pizza was gummy and management was defensive. Service was still good though!

Really enjoy the food at Maria's! Service is great! My only issue is with the Fisherman platter! It is always golden brown but nothing is crispy! Please change the battery you use! We get it often and hope to taste crispy fried clams someday!

Ordered a Greek salad for lunch last week, it was AWESOME! Very crisp lettuce, really fresh feta cheese, great veggies and searved with soft Italian bread, yum! going back for another one today 😋

First of all waitress has the nerve to call myself a troublemaker because i asked if they had coke or pepsi products. my chicken piccata was dry and the sauce was terrible. I always order chicken piccata at a lot of places and this was the worst one. took the waitress and hour to get our menus. never going back!

Placed reservation online for a large group. Food & service were exceptional. Best of all, we were not rushed & spent a wonderful afternoon in a very comfortable environment.Highly recommend.
